UNDERSTANDING
MEMORY PROCESSES
SENSORY MEMORY
-When
the learning process takes place, five human senses act to collect information.
If the individual is focused, the information will be stored in the short term
memory (STM). If vice versa the information will be lose.
SHORT TERM MEMORY (STM)
-This section has limited space. If the data stored in
this section is not repeated, then the data will be lost soon.
LONG TERM MEMORY
-This section is not limited and has space. From the
short term memory (STM), the data will be moved into long term memory (LTM) and
stored. If the data is not used, it will be lost soon.
AMAZING BRAIN FACTS TO BLOW YOUR MIND
-The typical brain is
about 2% of a body’s weight but uses 20% of its total energy and oxygen intake.
-Your brain is 73%
water. It takes only 2% dehydration to affect your attention, memory and other cognitive skills.
-Ninety minutes of
sweating can temporarily shrink the brain as much as one year og aging.
-Brain information moves
anywhere between 1 mph and an impressive 268 miles per hour .This is faster
than Formula 1 race cars which top out at 240 mph.
-Your brain generates
about 12-25 watts of electricity .This is enough to power low wattage LED
light.
DOES
BRAIN SIZE MATTER IN JUDGING HUMAN WISDOM?
-In general men’s
brains are 10% bigger than women’s. Even after taking into account larger body
size.
-Albert Einstein’s
brain weighed 2.71 pounds (1,230 grams) -10% smaller than average of 3 pounds
(1,400 grams). However, the neuron density of his brain was greater than
average.
MEMORY
VS BRAIN
-Brain and
mind are not the same.
-Your brain
is part of the visible, tangible world of the body.
-Your mind
is part of the invisible, transcendent world of thought, feeling, attitude, belief
and imagination.
-The brain
is the physical organ, most associated with mind consciousness.
-The mind is
not confined to the brain. The intelligence of your mind permeates every cell
of your, not just brain cells.
-Your mind
has tremendous power over all bodily systems.
COMPARING
HUMAN WITH COMPUTER
Nowadays computers or electronic
devices usually been used by a lot of peoples. For examples, personal computer,
laptop cell phones, blackberry and androids. All of them have the same main
function into human which is to connect peoples all around the globe for
personal use, business, research and general information and to stay connected.
The technical structure can be
compared to the human construction .For examples:-

UNDERSTANDING CONCENTRATION
CONCENTRATION
PERCENTAGES
· 5% : Lecturer
· 10% : Reading
· .20% : Audiovisual
· 30% : Demonstration
· 50% : Discussion
· 75% : Practice Doing
· 95% : Teach Others
STRATEGIES FOR IMPROVING CONCENTRATION
CONCENTRATION STRATEGIES
-
Turn off your phone
One obvious
way to maintain concentration is to avoid distraction, and probably the biggest
distraction is the smart phone. When students need to funnel their energy into
studies, turning off the phone or even putting it on airplane mood is a good
way to centralize your drive and keep distraction at bay.
-
The bottom line
These all-natural ways to pay attention in class
sharpen the mind but also enhance other aspects of students` lives. So while
they hone concentration, they also enable students to have the energy and focus
on their efforts as well.
-
Get some sleep
Students should have a regular sleep routine and stick
with it. Having irregular sleep cycles can really affect concentration and
physical well-being. Try to go to sleep at the same time every night and get
eight to nine hours of sleep. Your body will thank you in the morning.
